Hello! I'm Ros
Travel Agent, Travel Writer, TravellerWelcome!
I’m Rosalind, but please call me Ros for short. I’m originally from the UK, but haven’t called England home for a while now. I’m a full time traveller, as well as travel agent and travel writer. I’ve visited more than 70 countries and all 7 continents. I love a bucket list, but one that is made up of experiences, not just locations. I like to travel slow, and live in a place for a while rather than just travel through it. I’m still learning how to do this though – I always get excited about the next trip while I’m still on the current one, so it’s a work in progress! I’m an animal lover, adrenaline junky, and scuba divemaster. I love hiking, roadtrips, the ocean and boardgames. I’m not at all a foodie, but I’m trying to become one.

My travel story
I was lucky enough to travel to some incredible destinations with my family while growing up, including New Zealand, Iceland and Israel. During my first year of university I hitchhiked across Europe from Sheffield, England to Vilnius, Lithuania as part of a fundraising event. My second year I spent as an exchange student in the US, travelling to 25 states during the year and working at a summer camp during the summer. After graduating I took a gap year and spent 5 weeks in Africa, 5 weeks in South East Asia, 6 months in Australia on a working holiday visa, and 3 months back in the US at summer camp.
Within 2 weeks of returning home after my year away I was starting my new job as a travel consultant at Trailfinders in London, and immediately started saving and planning for the next gap year. During my 3 years at Trailfinders I was able to travel to a lot of new places with some incredible travel perks and agent discounts. During this time I took my favourite trip ever and ticked off my 7th continent: Antarctica!

my life now
My planned departure was delayed for a year by covid, but this allowed me to save a much larger amount, and my gap year plan became a gap 2-year plan. 2 months in, I met my partner, who had already been travelling full time for 7 years. I realised I didn’t want to keep taking gap year escapes from my real life back home, I wanted travel to be my real life.
When my savings began to run low I looked into online work to fund my lifestyle. I wrote a few articles for a few different websites and publications, some of which you will see here. I launched my own travel agency business as a franchise of Travel Counsellors. This business is still new and growing, and I would love it if you would consider booking with me for any of your future trips and recommending me to your friends – it doesn’t cost you anything extra, but helps me continue living this life I love!

MY Bucket List
1. Ride a hot air balloon over bagan, myanmar
2. dive with manta rays in komodo national park, indonesia
3. watch the northern lights from a glass igloo in lapland, finland
