A stopover in Mexico City turned out to be a fantastic decision, followed by a few days at the beach in Cancun

The site is enormous - we walked for 8 hours straight, exploring the many tombs, passageways, and cliffside steps. And a lot of the time we were completely alone!

The canyons are stunning, with reds and pinks and oranges of every shade

If this world wonder is on your bucket list, make sure to give it enough time! Definitely don't limit yourself to just the treasury and the main walkway, there's so much more to see

On the North coast of Dominican Republic we visited Puerto Plata, Sosua and Samana

Honestly? It was beautiful, but underwhelming.

The highlight was definitely whale watching in Samana 🐋

The lowlight was the stressful local bus system 🚌

As an adventurer seeker and budget traveller I feel guilty for saying this but... next time I'd just stay in a resort ⛱️
