A city and a country all in one, Singapore is a fantastic stopover destination. The Gardens by the Bay and the iconic Marina Bay Sands hotel are a must, but continue walking along the waterfront and you’ll find more great sights from the Merlion to the Esplanade Theatres to the food halls with delicious cuisines from all over Asia. It’s not a cheap destination, especially in comparison to its neighbours, but it’s a very walkable city and there are plenty of free things to do if you know where to look.
